SHIPPING

Shipping pottery can be expensive depending on the weight of an item, or dimensions of the box used to ship. Every effort is made to ensure shipping is as cost effective as possible.

The United States Postal Service Priority Mail shipping is sufficient for the majority of cases, and is relatively cost effective compared to UPS or FedEx. To reduce waste and keep costs down, I reuse packing materials whenever possible.

I always try to send out orders as soon as I can, but please allow up to 5 business days for your order to be packed and sent on its way. I can not guarantee delivery times or dates – orders typically arrive 5-7 business days after the date of shipping . Please contact me before you purchase an item if you need something by a specific date, as you may need upgraded shipping services.

For larger orders and individual pieces air cargo shipping may be an option. This is available only for certain locations and is airline dependent. We will arrange delivery of your package to the air cargo location on Maui and you will personally have to pick up the package at the air cargo in your area.

International shipping

Contact me if you are outside of the USA and would like to make a purchase, and I will send a shipping quote. Please be aware that shipping is likely to be fairly costly due to the weight of ceramic pieces and the need for protective packaging. Please be aware that you may need to pay customs and import fees. Any fees due upon delivery (taxes, customs, etc.) will be the recipient’s responsibility. There will be no refunds or exchange credit issued for pieces that are damaged during transit to locations outside of the USA. I will do my absolute best to package your order with care, but I cannot assume responsibility for damage that occurs to items shipped internationally, so order at your own risk. REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICE

Canceling my order

If your order hasn’t been shipped already, I will cancel your order and refund your money. If your order has already been shipped and is on its way, you will have to wait for your order to arrive and then send it back at your cost.  Simply return it to the address below. I will refund your money within 2 weeks (without the shipping costs) to your account when the items are received back at our studio undamaged. If the items arrive damaged, you are not eligible for refund.

Return

I sincerely hope you are happy with your purchase. However, the real life touch and feel can be hard to replace. If there is a genuine problem then I will accept returns, but I kindly ask that you consider your purchase carefully. Bear in mind that each piece is handmade and as such may have subtle imperfections or quirks (as compared to items that are mass produced). I take care to accurately represent colors in my photographs, but since every computer is configured differently, colors may differ slightly from what you see on your screen. If you have any questions about a particular item, contact me and I will be happy to provide additional information and pictures.

If you are not satisfied with the item (s) purchased, for whatever reason, you can return them for a refund or exchange! Please contact me within 3 days of receiving your order to enable me to approve the return. It is then your responsibility to return the items to the Maui studio. The return shipment must be received at the Maui studio within 14 days after your return is approved. You will have to arrange the return shipping yourself and also cover the associated costs. We will refund your money within 2 weeks (without the shipping costs and any associated import duties or taxes). Please keep in mind that until the goods are received by us in undamaged condition, the responsibility of the goods remains with you.

Damage during shipment

I take great care in packaging the ceramics as safely as possible. Each piece is carefully wrapped. If your order arrives damaged or broken, please save all packaging, contact me within 48 hours of receipt, and provide pictures of both the broken item(s) and the condition of the packaging when you received your shipment. I am not responsible for lost or stolen packages; please contact the shipping carrier to resolve.  After I receive your email, I will review it and where appropriate refund your money (without the shipping costs and any associated import duties and taxes)  within 2 weeks. You won’t have to send back the item, unless I ask you to.

How do I care for the pottery?

My pottery is created for everyday use in the home. After throwing on the wheel, or combining slab roller, hand building and wheel throwing technique each piece is biscuit fired, glazed and then high fired in an electric kiln. This means that they are food safe and dishwasher safe. Like all ceramics though, they are not shatter proof and will break if dropped or knocked against a hard surface.

How is your pottery made?

All of my pottery is handmade, most of it is wheel thrown stoneware and some of it is combination of slab roller, hand building, and wheel throwing. Everything is created by myself, in my own studio. Every piece is unique. As with most handmade ceramics there may be some imperfections or slight variations from the photographs. Such imperfections are not considered to be flaws, they simply reflect the unique character of each piece and are a natural part of the pottery process. I am happy to provide additional information and pictures if you need before purchasing.

Do you offer wholesale and custom orders?

I do occasionally accept custom orders and small batch wholesale enquiries, please email me with information about what you are interested in and I will get back to you with an estimate. Please note that the making process is lengthy but I can typically turn around a small custom order in 6-8 weeks, depending on the size of your order and my current work schedule.

Payment is currently accepted by PayPal, Venmo and direct bank transfer through this website.  Please contact me if you are experiencing difficulties.
